Handmade Felt from a Cornish Smallholding

I have no formal arts training and a 'renaissance portfolio' of background jobs (busking as a tap dancing dog has to be an all time high) but my life-long passion for all things creative has finally found a home. I am constantly moved and inspired by texture, colour and form and feltmaking allows me a voice in all of these. The process of taking something so insubstantial and creating a fabric that has endless possibilities fascinates me to the point of obsession. From gossamer thin to sturdy and strong felt will bend to your will and remember what you asked of it . Sculptural, seamless works made by traditional & ancient methods are what really inspire me but I hope that all of my work also conveys a sense of warmth and humour. Sturdy and strong with a healthy dose of frippery and laughs pretty much sums me up and that's what you'll find in a Cledry Yarner piece. I am lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world and the landscape, my family and a mulitude of quirky friends provide me with endless inspiration .
